"Suffering is not a contest. Nobody's problems invalidate anyone else's." - Anonymous
I really like this quote because it reminds me that I cannot measure another person's suffering or problems against my own experiences. What may seem like a small thing to me, may be the most difficult thing ever for them. Conversely, what may seem huge to me may be insignificant to another. Nobody deserves to have their experiences or feelings invalidated simply because they don't match up with my own experiences or feelings.
Yesterday was payday (it came early) so I paid all the bills except rent (Ari said she will take care of that on Tuesday). I bought tickets to Walker Stalker/Heroes & Villains in Portland, plus a photo op for Tiana as her birthday present. I also ordered a new set of sheets for our bed. The fitted sheet ripped a while ago, and having only the top sheet to use as the bottom sheet is not pleasant.
I also stopped at Express-o Yourself, a coffee shop downtown, and got a mocha. It was amazing! I am definitely going to be ordering my coffee there instead of at Starbucks from now on!
